Story of Raveen(a)

Raveen, a bright and soft-spoken Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) student, sat anxiously in front of his laptop. He was waiting for the results of a Microsoft Teams interview for a prestigious American software company. His three college mates, Roshini, Priya, and Kavya, all from the Computer Science Engineering (CSE) department, were also waiting for the same. Due to a technical glitch, the cameras didn’t work during the interview, so none of the candidates could see each other.

When the results were announced, all four were elated to discover they had been selected. While the three girls were thrilled to have one another in the same workplace, their enthusiasm dampened slightly when they realized Raveen was the fourth person joining them. They found his slim figure, soft demeanor, and naturally high-pitched, feminine voice odd. Initially, they believed he was mocking them by mimicking their tones, so they kept their distance, forming their own close-knit trio while Raveen often sat alone during lunch breaks.

Their dynamic changed one day when the team was given a critical project with a tight deadline. Despite their efforts, Roshini, Priya, and Kavya couldn’t resolve a crucial technical issue. As the hours ticked away, panic set in. Noticing their stress, Raveen quietly offered to help. Reluctantly, they handed the problem to him. To their amazement, Raveen not only fixed the issue but also optimized the code, impressing the client. The girls’ gratitude began to thaw the ice between them.

From that day onward, the trio started including Raveen in their discussions. Soon, they were sitting together during lunch breaks, sharing jokes, and leaning on his technical expertise whenever needed.
