THE ITEM GIRL OF APARTMENT 402
The lockdown had become exhausting.
Work meetings, online classes, cooking, cleaning, and endless news updates had made everyone restless.
Meera suggested a girls' night.
"No work. No phones. Only music."
Neha grinned.
"Priya, you're performing."
Prem immediately protested.
"I am not dancing!"
Divya played a song.
Prem recognized the rhythm.
Ananya began dancing.
Meera joined.
Neha pulled Prem into the center.
"Just one step."
Prem tried.
The women laughed.
He tried again.
This time, he got the rhythm.
The music grew louder.
His long hair swung as he moved.
The women cheered.
"Priya! Priya!"
Prem began dancing with exaggerated expressions, dramatic hand movements, and playful poses.
The apartment erupted in laughter.
Neha watched him with shining eyes.
For the first time, she saw her husband completely relaxed.
He wasn't worried about appearances.
He wasn't worried about the village.
He was simply enjoying himself.
The dance ended with Prem striking a dramatic pose.
Meera fell onto the sofa laughing.
"That was the best girls' night ever!"
Prem bowed.
"Thank you. My performance fee is biryani."
The women cheered.
Later, they sat together on the balcony, enjoying snacks and discussing their college memories.
Prem looked at Neha.
"Do you remember our first college dance?"
Neha smiled.
"You stepped on my foot."
Prem laughed.
"And you refused to dance with me again."
Neha leaned against his shoulder.
"That was before I knew you could dance like this."
The night became a memory none of them would ever forget.
But the friends were already planning something even bigger.
Something that would change the meaning of Prem and Neha's marriage.
