Part 4 Image

Arjun squeezed his eyes shut. The thought was unbearable. It felt like being told to willingly kill the soul he had spent years setting free. He clearly remembered the painful, terrifying process of shedding his male identity, and the deep love from Priya that had made it possible.

It had started five years ago. He had always felt a deep, secret disconnect with his own masculinity. It felt like wearing a heavy, ill-fitting coat that choked him. One evening, when Priya was supposed to be in Delhi on a business trip, she had come home a day early. She had walked into their bedroom to find him standing in front of the full-length mirror. He was wearing one of her old red silk sarees. He had draped it clumsily, the pleats uneven and falling apart around his ankles. He was holding a liquid eyeliner pen, his hand shaking so badly he had drawn jagged, messy black lines across his eyelids.

He had frozen in pure terror, waiting for her to scream, to laugh, to call him crazy, to pack her bags and leave.

Instead, Priya had closed the door behind her. She hadn't said a word. She had walked over, gently taken the eyeliner from his shaking fingers, and wiped his messy attempts away with a makeup wipe. Then, holding his chin firmly in her hand, she had expertly lined his eyes. She had looked at him, truly looked at him in the mirror, and seen the desperate, caged feminine soul begging to be let out.

That night had changed the direction of their lives forever. They had talked until morning. He confessed his lifelong desire to be soft, to be beautiful, to be submissive in his daily life. And Priya confessed her own realization that she didn't want a traditional, dominant husband. She loved him deeply, and she had a natural protective, providing nature that found huge joy in allowing him to bloom into who he truly was.

The change had been slow and deliberate, a journey they took together, step-by-step, funded entirely by Priya's rising success.

First was the body hair. He remembered the first time he went to a salon for a full body wax. The burning pain as the beautician ripped the thick, coarse hair from his chest, back, and legs had brought tears to his eyes. But stepping into the shower afterward, feeling the hot water glide over completely smooth, bare skin, had been a deeply freeing experience. He never let a single hair grow back after that day.

Then came the hair on his head. He let his short, practical cut grow, enduring months of awkward middle phases until it finally fell past his shoulders. Priya taught him to oil it, brush it, and twist it into the heavy, low buns that traditional wives wore.

The piercings were a huge milestone. Priya took him to a traditional family jeweler. She held his hand tightly as an old man pierced his left nostril with a thick gold needle, putting in the tiny diamond stud. It was a permanent, visible mark of his femininity. Weeks later, they returned to pierce his earlobes.

The clothing changed slowly. First, he just wore soft, feminine fabrics at home in the evenings. Then, he shifted to wearing kurtis. Finally, the sarees. Priya hired a professional draper to come to the house and teach him the detailed art of folding, pleating, and pinning the six yards of silk and cotton so it hugged his body perfectly. She bought him heavily padded blouses to create the illusion of breasts, teaching him how to walk with a gentle sway of his hips in heels to balance his new weight.

Finally, the shift in roles. He quit his high-stress banking job. Because he valued their absolute privacy and loved doing household work, he took over the kitchen, the cleaning, the laundry, totally refusing to hire any maids. He learned to make perfect round rotis, to bargain with the vegetable sellers at the local market, to look after the sanctuary of their large home entirely on his own. Priya became the sole breadwinner, the head of the household.

Through mutual respect and deep, profound love, he had become her wife in every way that mattered to them. Her perfect, devoted, beautiful wife.

And now, sitting on the bed, she was asking him to put that heavy, suffocating male coat back on. To scrape the polish off his nails, to let the rough hair grow back on his chest and face, to tie himself in stiff collars and ties, and to act like a man.

"I will die," Arjun whispered, tears spilling over his cheeks, dropping onto his lap. "If I have to go back to being a man, Priya, I won't survive it. I can't breathe in those clothes. I can't be that person anymore. It will kill me inside."

Priya pulled him into her arms, pressing his head against her shoulder. He cried, heavy, shaking sobs that shook his entire body. She stroked his long hair, her own tears falling silently into the dark strands.

"I know," she murmured, rocking him gently. "I know, baby. I don't want to lose this either. I love you exactly as you are. But I don't know how to fix this. The money is just gone."
