It took over a year for the atmosphere in the house to truly transform. The strict, terrifying rules had slowly melted into established routines. The fear had been replaced by a mutual understanding.

Rohan still woke up at 5:00 AM. He still did the chores. He still handed his salary over to Priya. And he still dressed as a woman at home. The sarees were perhaps a bit more modest now, mostly elegant cottons and silks, the heavy makeup toned down to a softer, more natural look—kohl, mascara, a smaller bindi, and the ever-present sindoor and mangalsutra.

He still pressed Nalini's legs in the evenings, but it was now a time for quiet conversation rather than tense silence.

The biggest change was Priya. She no longer felt the need to constantly assert her dominance through humiliation. She realized that her power wasn't threatened by showing respect.

One evening, Nalini was reading in the living room. Priya was on the sofa, and Rohan was in the kitchen finishing the dishes.

Priya got up and walked into the kitchen. Nalini watched over the top of her book.

Priya picked up a dish towel. She didn't say a word, just started drying the plates as Rohan washed them.

Rohan glanced at her, a soft smile playing on his lips. "You don't have to do that, Priya." He no longer called her 'Mistress' unless they were alone in their bedroom or enforcing a specific rule.

"I know," Priya said simply. "I want to finish quickly so we can watch a movie."

Nalini smiled, closing her book.

The relationship was still unconventional. It was undeniably female-led. Rohan was firmly in the role of a feminized homemaker. But the toxicity was gone. The ghosts of the past—Priya's tyrannical father—no longer dictated their present.

They had found an equilibrium. A strange, unique balance where Priya felt safe and in control, and Rohan felt accepted and purposeful in his submission.

As Nalini watched her daughter and son-in-law quietly working together in the kitchen, she realized that family dynamics weren't always about adhering to tradition. Sometimes, they were about breaking everything down and building something entirely new, even if it looked strange to the rest of the world.

She had come here a lonely, traditional mother expecting a conventional life. She was now the respected matriarch of a house where her son-in-law wore a saree and her daughter ruled, and for the first time in a long time, there was peace.
