Chapter 4 — Aarohi, Darshan and the Moment of Confidence
The friends gave the new presentation a name for the day: Aarohi.
Arjun laughed at first, but the name made the experience feel like a playful festival character rather than a permanent change.
Before leaving, the girls made a final checklist:
Outfit secure
Hair neat
Jewelry comfortable
Nothing that would make walking difficult
Arjun practiced walking a few steps and laughed at himself.
At the temple entrance, he became quiet again. The crowd was larger than expected. Maya stood on one side, Nandini on the other, and Keerthi walked just behind him. Their calm presence gave him confidence.
Inside the temple, the festival noise faded. Aarohi folded her hands and stood before the deity.
The moment was unexpectedly peaceful.
Arjun had spent so much time worrying about how he looked that he had forgotten why he came.
After darshan, he opened his eyes with a relieved smile.
“I actually did it,” he said.
Maya smiled.
“You did it because you decided to try. We only helped.”
